Ecodesign approach

With ecodesign, we reduce the environmental impact of our products.

Analysing the product's environmental footprint enabled us to identify the most impactful stages of its life cycle. Thanks to this approach, our design teams were able to develop this product while significantly reducing its environmental impact.

Ecodesign actions on this product

    Recycled cast iron

Product made from 77% recycled cast iron

From extraction to production, metal has a significant environmental footprint. That’s why we use recycled metal in this product. Instead of extracting new resources, we recover and recycle metal waste. After sorting, cleaning, and crushing, the metal is remelted in electric furnaces β€” which use far less energy than traditional coal-fired blast furnaces. The result: fewer raw materials extracted, up to 40% less energy consumed, and at least 19% fewer CO2 emissions compared to virgin metal β€” with no compromise on performance.

Product made with a CO2eq reduction of 10% compared to the previous or similar product

Our design teams are working to develop processes that will reduce the impact of a product, while preserving its technical characteristics. This reduction relates to the following indicators: climate change, air pollution, water pollution and resource depletion.
