TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

COMPONENT DURABILITY

Resistance to wear and abrasion test: for example, we check that our fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in laboratories. Colour retention test: the colour fastness is verified to ensure that the colours do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing should not affect the fabric's properties, behaviour, thickness or appearance.

WATER-REPELLENT PROPERTIES

A quality achieved by applying a hydrophobic, water repellent treatment to a fabric. This process prevents water from sticking to the fabric's surface, thus limiting the latter's ability to absorb water. When movement is added to the equation, water runs off the fabric. This is what is meant by water repellent. Thanks to its water repellent properties, water does not soak into the outer fabric. The trousers remain light and dry more quickly.

Windproof

Wind protection is very important because of the significant chill effect that wind can have on the body, whether you are active or at rest. According to the "windchill" model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind & cold: At a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30km/h, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C & wind speed is 30km/h, the temperature felt will be -6°C. The materials used help to counter the chilling effects of the wind

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH

Because we are aware that we must act to preserve our playground, Quechua is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its products.

We have optimised the design of these trousers and selected a lightweight component without compromising on quality.
We have reduced the CO2 impact of the trousers by 30% compared to the previous model.
This is still not enough and that's why we are working to make these trousers 100% eco-designed one day.

WHERE DO OUR TROUSERS COME FROM?

Created in our international design centre at the foot of the Mont Blanc in France, this fleece is then manufactured and assembled by our suppliers in Vietnam and Bangladesh.
These are partners that have genuine expertise in making our tents and with whom we are in close collaboration.
Thanks to this relationship of trust with our industrial partners, we can create high-quality technical products.

Working conditions in our production workshops

We guarantee that our suppliers comply with our code of conduct. These suppliers are often located in developing countries where our presence helps to create jobs.
By conducting audits and having teams on site, we make sure that the working environment of the employees meets certain quality standards in terms of human respect, personal fulfilment and environmental protection.

Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are beautiful, simple and technologically advanced. These are then tested in the field as we believe that the only way to continually improve our products is to test them under the real-life conditions that you will experience.

To meet your requirements, Quechua products are tested in the mountains in conditions you will encounter during your hikes. Sarah, our Field Test Engineer, as well as a panel of child testers, test the products throughout their development until they’re offered for sale.
