Its main features
Corrosion-proof: no need to fear the damp! The shape and grip make it easy to hold. This knife has a full-tang construction. This means that the blade and the handle form a single piece to guarantee rock-solid strength. The handle is attached with torx screws. Made of G10: a lightweight material that withstands impacts and wear.
Let’s talk about Nitrox steel
Nitrox is a steel that contains nitrogen in its formulation. In concrete terms, this offers good resistance to corrosion and excellent cutting power (which it can retain for a long time before being re-sharpened). For sharpening (20° wire sharpening), we recommend using a sharpening stone.
Under which conditions should this knife be used?
A big knife with a 15 cm blade that you can use for everything! As well as for splitting (it even loves it), as for cutting branches for his shelter or cutting down small dead trees on the fly. The weight and length of the knife give it good cutting power. The edge cuts into the wood nicely and you can strike it, it’s made of solid stuff.
A few words about the firesteel
The case contains a firesteel. That is, a ferrocerium rod, which you simply need to strike with a sharp-edged object to produce a large spark, which can then be used to light a fire. Do this using the back of the blade on the smooth or serrated side, as you prefer. This turns it into a giant striker that gives off nice sparks. Caution, fire is dangerous. Consult current authorisations/permit requirements and comply with them. And leave nature as you found it.
