    Design details

    Probe diameter and tip

    The diameter of the cone-shaped tip is larger than that of the probe, making a larger hole. Consequently, the probe penetrates more easily into the snow piled up by the avalanche
    The probe consists of 6 sections and has been designed with a diameter of 12.5 mm to be stronger when probing in hard snow.

    Quick unfolding

    In a single step, the probe unfolds and the sections fit into each other quickly. The cable and automatic blocking system makes deployment easier thanks to the supporting shaft inside the last section.
    4 tightening levels available: the tighter the cable, the more rigid the probe.

    Grip

    A long foam sleeve is stuck on the probe's last section to make it easier to grip it with gloves.
    A synthetic handle is sewn on the cable for deploying the probe quickly.

    Did you know?
    Gloves should be worn when probing to avoid contaminating the area with odours other than those of the victims.

    Marking

    For effective probing, and to find out the depth of the victim, the sections have a marking every 5 cm with a more visible marking every 50 cm.
