    What size should I choose for these cross-country ski over-trousers?

    These over-trousers have a standard fit, with enough room inside to wear tights underneath. Pick your usual size.

    How to stay warm and dry during my cross-country skiing outings?

    We recommend the 3-layer technique.
    - A technical base layer to wick away moisture and keep the skin dry.
    - A long-sleeved top or fleece to provide warmth and wick away moisture.
    - A jacket or over-trousers to protect against the elements: wind, snow and cold.

    These trousers can be worn as a base layer or over tights! Adjust the number of layers to the intensity of your physical activity and the weather.

    Why is it important to wear breathable clothing for cross-country skiing?

    Breathable clothing wicks away the water vapour produced by perspiration, keeping you dry. We measure their RET value, i.e. their evaporative resistance.
    RET<6: extremely breathable, ideal for most intense physical effort
    RET between 6 & 12: very breathable, suitable for moderate physical effort
    RET between 12 & 20: moderately breathable, not particularly pleasant during physical effort
    RET >20: not very breathable and therefore not very suitable during physical effort
    RET >40: not breathable

    Why is it important for my over-trousers to be windproof?

    Because the wind makes you feel colder! If the outdoor temperature is 0°C with a wind speed of 20km, it will feel like -10°C. "Windproof” components help to reduce this chill effect by blocking the air flow resulting from the wind or the relative speed of the sporting activity.
