How does this shoe provide you with precision?
This mountaineering boot has been designed to enhance your mountaineering performance:
1 - Its anatomical shape ensures that the foot is positioned precisely on each hold.
2 - The Vibram sole features a large climbing zone for maximum grip.
3 - The rubber on the sole and the rigid construction provide stability and support when climbing technical sections.
4 - The low-cut laces allow the shoe to be tightened perfectly, improving both precision and foot control.
What’s special about the lacing?
The lacing system is precise and divided into three zones — the forefoot, midfoot and ankle — for a better fit when climbing and optimal comfort when walking.
To make tightening easier, our engineers have added a self-locking hook at the instep.
The laces are designed to be thinner where they need to be tightened and thicker at the top, so that the knots stay secure over time.
What kind of sole does this shoe have?
Our engineers have chosen the Vibram® Mulaz sole, manufactured with Vibram®’s “Mont” compound, a firm rubber that offers good grip and excellence in performance even in cold weather.
It features a large grip zone at the front for climbing, a wide zone at the back for descent, and crampons of various shapes that provide both stability (on the outer surface) and traction (in the middle and on the inside).
Uncompromising waterproofing: HDry® technology
Thanks to the HDry® quality standard, shoes manufactured with this system have the highest levels of waterproofing, breathability and drying. The waterproof and breathable membrane is directly laminated on the inside of the shoe and there are no seams or gaps for the water to penetrate. The ultra-thin waterproof membrane and the unique laminating method enable precise adjustment and keep your shoes dry and light all day.
In what ways is this mountaineering boot reliable and durable?
It is manufactured from a highly durable fabric that is both lightweight and breathable, unlike traditional leather.
This fabric has been tested in accordance with ISO 12947 and can withstand at least 200,000 cycles, making it a remarkable material.
It is manufactured in Italy by Panatex®, a company renowned for over 50 years of expertise in technical fabrics.
We have fitted a toe cap made from TPU with a thickness of 1.5 mm all around the shoe. It extends downwards to protect the PU midsole.
Can the soles of these mountaineering boots be resoled?
Is your sole worn out? Whatever you do, don’t throw your shoe away.
Please contact your local Decathlon store to have your shoes resoled. You’ll leave with a brand-new sole of the same quality, ready for more mountain runs?
How should you maintain your shoes?
To make your shoes last longer, remember to clean them regularly. Microscopic particles can get in, damage seams and fabric, and reduce the membrane’s effectiveness.
To wash them, use:
- A soft brush
- A pH-neutral soap
- A spray for repellency
Always leave them to air-dry, away from direct heat sources.
