    How is usage temperature measured?

    All our gloves are laboratory tested on a thermal hand. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions.
    The mittens have a warmth rating of 4 out of 5.

    How to properly protect your hands from the cold

    By applying the layering principle, you can optimise the insulation of your hands. So, by wearing liner gloves in addition to these mittens/fingerless gloves, several layers of air are created around your hands, effectively insulating them from the cold. To benefit from this, it’s important to wear large enough gloves to prevent your fingers from being constricted. This is because the compression slows down the blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from keeping warm.

    How to keep your hands warm with the right clothing

    When active, the body generates heat which is preserved thanks to the thermal insulation of your clothing. If the clothing is inadequate, your body cools and the blood flow to the hands and feet drops in order to keep your upper body warm. Your clothing can therefore play a role in keeping your hands warm.

    How should I look after my mittens/fingerless gloves?

    We recommend machine-washing your mittens/fingerless gloves at 30°C, on a normal cycle, preferably using liquid detergent.

    Dry them on a flat surface, but don’t put them on a heat source. This could damage them and make them lose their shape.

    These gloves have undergone laboratory tests to determine the warmth they provide, whether worn alone or over a liner glove. These tests use thermal hands that reproduce the heat produced by the hand as well as the phenomena of perspiration. These are placed in sophisticated thermal chambers that can be cooled to temperatures as low as -40°C and can even recreate wind conditions.
