Robust shoes that will last a long time
This model is our top-of-the-range Crosshunt leather shoe: they are thick, tall (21 cm upper parts), stiff and provide excellent support for walking on very uneven terrain. In terms of durability, and to ensure the shoe lasts longer, we have opted for 2.4 mm thick full-grain leather: they are tough! You’ll be able to walk without worry through dense sections of forest, thick with brambles, dense undergrowth or obstacles.
More about the stone guard
As the name suggests, it acts as a shield against stones, protruding rocks or even tree roots. What is its role? To absorb the impact in the event of a front impact. This ensures a smoother walk through very rugged terrain. On these Crosshunt 900s, the rubber stone guard is glued all the way round the shoe: this eliminates seams and further enhances waterproofing.
Unrivalled waterproofing
For this model, our teams have worked to achieve exceptional waterproofing through a special construction, membrane and leather. And laboratory tests have been carried out. As a result, these are the first shoes in Decathlon’s range to have successfully withstood 1,000,000 flexes whilst submerged in water without letting any water in (the equivalent of 1,400 km without water infiltration). That’s ten times higher than the market average. In a nutshell, your feet stay dry.
A truly versatile model
Designed for heavy-duty use, this pair features a dual-density sole for comfort. It also provides cushioning and a springy feel when walking. In practical terms, this provides better forward propulsion, ensuring a smooth stride. However, the shoe remains stiff, which ensures that the ankle is well supported and allows for comfort on uneven terrain, such as in mountainous areas.
The Vibram outsole
Vibram has been producing soles since 1937, and developed the first sole for mountaineering by means of rubber vulcanisation. Little by little, the brand is making a name for itself thanks to the excellent grip of its soles. Nowadays, shoes with this type of sole are renowned for the grip they offer on both dry and wet surfaces. What’s more, the Crosshunt 900 features large 5 mm studs: whether the ground is soggy, slippery or muddy, you can go anywhere!
Shoes that can be resoled
These Crosshunt 900s can be resoled. We see three advantages to this:
-this allows you to replace only the worn part (the outsole) whilst keeping the upper, which is already moulded to your foot: you’ll walk away with a brand-new sole
-you’ll extend the life of your shoes without having to buy a new pair
-repairing rather than throwing away helps reduce our impact on the environment
The little extras of the Crosshunt 900
There is a loop on the shoes so you can attach your gaiters.
For even greater comfort, the inside collar is lined with leather.
The laces on this pair are Supertrack (ref 8871290): they are resistant to brambles and hold the knot very securely.

Taking care of the leather
As long as you grease your shoes regularly and leave them to dry away from all sources of heat (radiators, wood stoves, etc.), they’ll keep you going for years and years.
To look after them properly:
1/ Dust them off with a soft brush. If necessary, use soap and water
