    How is thermal comfort measured?

    - The recommended comfort temperature is the outdoor temperature enabling thermal equilibrium, i.e. at which 95% of men hiking at a moderate pace in controlled conditions indicated that they were not too warm, nor too cold.

    - The comfort limit temperature is the outdoor temperature enabling thermal equilibrium, i.e. at which 80% of men hiking at a moderate pace in controlled conditions indicated that they were not too warm, nor too cold.

    How waterproof is it?

    This parka has been designed with a waterproof coating (JIS 1092 Standard) that can withstand 15,000 mm H20 (Schmerbers), which is the pressure exerted by a 15-metre column of water per centimetre squared of fabric. Its fully watertight seams make it completely water-resistant.

    Snow! You won't get through!

    The hood, cuffs and hem can be the weak points of a parka when they let the snow in. This is not the case with this jacket. The hood is elasticated, the cuffs are adjustable and the bottom of the jacket can be tightened, for maximum insulation!

    No more hoods that don’t fit properly!

    For greater comfort when walking in the blustery wind, the discreet cord lock built into the jacket allows you to easily tighten the hood for the best fit. No more hoods coming loose: you’ll remain well protected from the cold and snow!

    What are the advantages of feathers?

    The feather traps in air for good thermal insulation. It is also lighter and more compressible than synthetic wadding, offering effective warmth without adding weight, ideal for freedom of movement in winter.

    How should you wash your feather down jacket?

    Close all the zips on your parka and put it in the washing machine, on a synthetic cycle at 30°C.
    To maintain the loft, the best way is to add 2 tennis balls in the washing machine.
    Caution: choose a gentle spin cycle to avoid creating feather clumps that are difficult to remove.

    Straps for complete comfort

    When your body heats up through physical exertion or in the sun, you don’t have to take off your parka: thanks to the built-in straps, it can be worn on the shoulders, like a backpack. You can move freely without getting too hot or having your hands tied up.

    Should I re-waterproof my parka?

    To find out if your parka is still waterproof, test it with a drop of water. To do so, pour water on the garment.
    If it beads, no need to re-waterproof.
    If it is absorbed, the garment has lost its waterproofing and needs to be treated!

    How do you re-waterproof your jacket?

    You can use one of our waterproofing products available in stores or on our website. Leave the jacket to soak for 15 minutes or machine wash it at 30°C, having placed the re-waterproofing product in the softener compartment.

    Recycled down and feathers come from end-of-life products filled with down, or from production waste. After collection, the filling is removed, then washed, dried, sterilised and air-sorted to recover clean, high-quality material. Once cleaned, the down regains all its natural qualities: it traps air efficiently, offering excellent insulation, lightness, and compressibility. Our tests confirm a fill power of 700 cuin, ensuring a high level of warmth and comfort. This choice helps reduce CO2 emissions by 38% compared to virgin down and limits the use of new animal-derived materials. The only precaution: as a natural material, it requires a bit more care when washing and drying to maintain its loft and performance.
