    How is the waterproofness of the fabric measured?

    We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure, expressed in millimetres of water column (test based on the JIS L1092 standard). The higher the water pressure resistance, the more waterproof the fabric.
    This jacket has a waterproof rating of 20,000 mm and effectively protects the user from rain for up to three hours – equivalent to the conditions of a heavy mountain storm.

    How is the breathability of the fabric measured?

    Breathability measures a fabric’s capacity to allow water vapour (perspiration) to escape out. It is expressed in g/m²/24h.

    What are the distinctive features of the hood?

    The hood is designed to be worn with a mountaineering helmet. Adjustable in height and depth, it can be tailored to your needs. A semi-rigid visor offers improved forehead and eye protection. The high collar protects the lower part of the face from the elements.

    How many pockets and zips does this jacket have?

    Outer: 2 large pockets that fasten with taped zips. The pockets are positioned on chest, making it easier to get access to them when wearing a harness.
    Inner jacket: 1 zip pocket

    Two-way front zip allowing opening from the bottom and a quick access to harness tie-in loop. The zip pulls are easier to handle with gloves.

    What is the RECCO® system?

    RECCO® technology enables rescue services to locate you in the event of an avalanche or if you get lost in the wilderness. RECCO reflectors do not replace an avalanche transceiver, but they do provide an extra layer of safety in the event of an accident. Lightweight (4 g), RECCO® reflectors require no batteries or power supply and do not need to be activated. Remember to let your friends and family know that you can be located using a RECCO® reflector.

    How do you look after your Wilder waterproof jacket?

    Close the zips and adjust the cuffs, then machine wash the jacket at 30°C. Do not use washing powder or fabric softener. Re-activate water-repellency with a suitable treatment after each wash. A whole range of specially made waterproof and breathable fabric care products are available in our Decathlon stores. Making use of these helps to optimise the effectiveness of your garment throughout their life cycle.

    Can this jacket be repaired?

    If your garment gets snagged, we recommend using our self-adhesive repair patches to prevent the tear from getting bigger. Otherwise, please visit your nearest Decathlon store for a repair at the workshop. Please note that a warranty for waterproofing will no longer be provided.
