    GSM: a key technical criterion for judogi

    In judo, the GSM of the uniform is no small matter. A heavy judogi is more resistant to repeated grabs: the seams hold up well; the fabric doesn’t give way. But beyond its resistance, a uniform with 550 GSM also plays a key role in the balance of power: it makes it harder for your opponent to get a grip on you, which tires them out more quickly and makes their holds less effective against you.
